Here is a photo of four Fat Pages I made for the January Fat Page challenge on the Crafters Companion website which is run by the very hard-working Gwen who organises loads of swaps. The theme was 'winter' which was interesting. I've gone for a cold, icy, bleak look on mine and I think the two with the acetate wrap made to look like a window are really effective.

It's Friday!
Hooray, it's Friday again so another fun filled weekend on the way! I expect I shall be playing with lego (ie clearing it up!) and helping to make paper guns (this seems to be a new craze going round at the moment!) If the weather stays nice I will try and get out into the garden and do some tidying up out there, it always seems so messy at this time of the year.
Made a card this morning for a friend. I used my beautiful background stamps from Chapel Road Art Stamps, the ship is from the CC Mens Set and for the Happy Birthday I used DB's idea of stippling over peel-off's and then removing them which seemed to work quite well, in fact I liked it so much that I did around the outside of the card as well. You can't see the colours that well but the card is a creamy colour and the colours I have used are brown and gold which make a nice combination I think.

Another Card!
Yet another family birthday this month - and still one more to go! This is a card I made for my Aunt who loves gardening. Again I have been haunting the DAISIE Company site for more downloads, it just has such lovely stuff. I used their papers on the outside and on the inside I used a paper from the Butterfly Bliss CD. I put the wording onto vellum and fixed it with four tiny brads. I've just posted it so lets hope that it arrives in time!

Papertake's January Challenge
Here is my card for the January (and the last!) Papertake Monthly Challenge. This is actually a big card as I made it using the whole sheet of A4 card but folded it longways. The only problem with doing this is that I will definitely have to make my own envelope! I have used the small piece of the grey pearlescent card on the inside as an insert. I Haven't coloured it at all, just left it in black and white, the only thing I added to it was some silver holographic card which I used to mount the cupcakes on.
This was a lovely kit Sammi, well done you.

Birthday Card
Here is the card I made for my niece who was two today! I used images from DAISIE Company and printed it onto 350g pearlescent white card and then added glitter to add to the general sparkliness of the card LOL.
Its a bit difficult to see the inside as the flash from the camera 'glared' a bit but you should get the general idea.

Alchohol Inks and Shrink Plastic
As the title suggests, I have been playing with shrink plastic today and because I messed up a large piece with a stamped image which 'skidded' I decided to play with my alchohol inks as well because I wouldn't be wasting any more of the shrink plastic. Well, it was certainly worthwhile, I got some lovely effects. I put drops of different coloured inks onto the plastic and left it to dry, it looked like this :-
I then cut off the rough edges and cut it into two rectangles which I then shrunk.
Then I added crystal lacquer to them and added beads to one and glitter to the other.
I am really pleased with the results and will use them for embellishments on cards. Its also a great way to use 'wasted' pieces of shrink plastic which you might normally just throw away.

Treasure Trunk
After watching C&C last week I finally decided to buy some of these Treasure Box stamps and I am pleased I did. I bought the full set of the tulip ones and this is my first attempt. This is the treasure trunk and I have to say that it was really easy to do and great fun, especially decorating it. I used a combination of Peewee Glitters and Twinkling H2O's on it and I am sure that the easgle eyed amongst you will notice that I still have to do the leaves on the top of the box. I just noticed that I haven't done them yet LOL.
I didn't buy them from C&C but through Ebay, from Aunty Aida's Craft Shop, here is the link, http://stores.ebay.co.uk/id=89584269&ssPageName=STRK:MEFS:MESST ,
as it was cheaper, even with my 10% discount, she also has loads of other good stuff so its worth checking out. She despatched really quickly and everything arrived in really good condition.

I've been busy!
Well, I've been busy, I've made a gothic style wedding card for my mum to give to a friends daughter who is getting married later this month.
I've done a few other things too! I've recently got interested in Alchohol Inks and here is a pic of some dominoes I altered with them.
I'm not entirely sure what I shall do with them yet, I may stamp onto them or I might use them as embellishments on cards as they are. Either way using the alchohol inks is great fun so give it a try.Monday, 14 January 2008
Engagement Card
Just finished this card for my cousin who had just got engaged so there will be a lovely August wedding to attend - better start that diet now!
I used the Robert Addams Wedding CD for the papers and toppers and added a printed vellum insert which I secured with tiny dabs of glue which I them covered up with silver corner peel-offs.
LOL - this has also worked in well with two of my challenges, Arty Girlz and Papertake Weekly - brilliant timing even if I do say so myself!

The Stamp Bug
Just had to come on and say that if you haven't already checked out this site (The Stamp Bug) then do so, it's a really great site with loads of goodies and they will take payment by paypal as well which is great if you don't want hubby to see the credit card bills! There is a link on the right hand side under 'My Favourite Sites'.
I haven't really done very much crafting recently as I am still not feeling great. I really must get some ATC's sent off to Leonie and I have to do some for the Crafters Companion January swap and also some Fat Pages too. I have nearly finished tidying my craft room so I will be able to get back in there soon I hope, hubby prefers me to keep all the 'mess' up there and not scattered around the house - wonder why! I will post up the pics of my atc's as soon as I have done them.
My cat is jumping up now so I suppose it must be time for tea so I'd better go and feed the little chap - hubby and son will also be getting hungry too I should think LOL
